Who can join

DAAD scholarship holders & alumni

In India and in Germany.

Currently in Germany on DAAD funding, or formerly.

German students & alumni with India experience

Through DAAD funding for a stay in India.

Applications are submitted in writing and membership is decided by the Board. If you are not eligible for ordinary membership, you can still join as a supporting member, contributing financially or materially to IndiAlumni’s work.

Membership fee

€12 a year, minimum

Members are welcome to contribute more. The form includes a SEPA direct debit mandate, so your contribution is collected automatically each year. DAAD IndiAlumni Netzwerk e.V. is a registered, recognised non-profit association (VR 22305, Amtsgericht Hamburg).

How to join

  1. Email board@indialumni.org and we send you the application form.
  2. We send you the SEPA direct debit mandate. Sign it and post it back — this is the one step German law does not let us do online.
  3. The board reviews your application and we help you find the right way to get involved.

Who you are joining

Ninety-nine people, two countries

This is the whole association, counted honestly and shown without a single name: where our members live, where they have been in India, and what they do. If you are weighing up whether to join, this is what you would be joining.

Germany, ranked

Grouped by state, largest first. Click a state to see the towns inside it. Five members live outside Germany and are listed at the end.

India, ranked

Grouped by state, largest first. Click a state to see the cities inside it. Members who told us only a state are counted at state level.

What our members do

Nine fields, ninety-nine people. The grey bubble holds the members who never told us what they do, plus one that fits nowhere else.

Fields, largest first

Roughly half the network is in study or research. That is the number that tells a student they will find peers here, and tells a senior professional exactly who they would be helping.
All figures are aggregates from our member register. No names, addresses or personal details are published anywhere on this site. Some members studied in more than one Indian city, so the India figures add up to more than 67.

Lend a hand

Support us by becoming part of our team

IndiAlumni is run by its own members, in their own time. If you would like to do more than attend, there is room for you: hosting a Stammtisch in your city, finding speakers, looking after our social media, helping put ConFest 2027 together, or simply being the person people in your region can write to.

You do not need a lot of time, and you do not need to wait until you are a member. Write to board@indialumni.org and tell us what you would enjoy doing. We will find something that fits.

Connect. Collaborate. Grow Together.
